 John
Haugse graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute where he
studied with a number of prominent Bay area painters, among them,
Richard Diebenkorn, Nathen Olivera and Frank Lobdell. He received
his MFA degree at the University of Oregon in 1964.
He has taught at Harvard University, The University of California at Santa Barbara, Lewis and Clark College in Portland, and the Pacific Northwest College of Art. He has shown his work in galleries in California, Washington and Oregon . He has won numerous awards for his film work and painting including the Guggenheim Fellowship. He currently lives and works in Hood River, Oregon.
